Our History
«In 2002 a deputy of Golyanovo district public assembly Mr. Tamarin, who knew that I was the vice-president of «The Federation of Aikikai Aikido and Traditional Kobudo in Russia» suggested me to organize a sport club in the area. The area administration provided us with premises – a propaganda room where a so called "Krasny Ugolok" had been situated earlier. It was a large clear hall (269m2) but it was absolutely unadapted for athletics. Third of it was occupied with a scene, and there were no changing rooms and showers. Scaffed and shabby walls, rotten floor, dirt, damp, cold, no water supply. The former Head of the local executive council Mr.Loginov told us to do makeovers by our own efforts but upon condition that it would be a sport club for the youth of Golyanovo district. The repair works took about two months. Everything was being done in a high tempo but in accordance with all the sanitary regulations and European standards. At that time we were called an LLC “Aikido-sport”. About 15-20 pioneers came to the club: they were boys and girls at the age of 10-14. We taught aikido only. At that stage we had to do everything ourselves: not only teach and raise our level, but also post advertising about the area. In spite of all the challenges we were sure that we’d chosen the right direction. In 2005 we re-registered our club into an Autonomous Non-Commercial Organization club of Martial Arts “Akido-sport”.We added Aikibudo, Kobudo and Muay Thai branches. In 2006 we invited a World champion in ultimate fighting Oleg Takhtarov from USA to help us with the development of a modern direction of martial arts – MIX-Fight. In 2008 a filial branch of our club was opened in Dolgoprudny. In 2009 on the basis of the club was created аn International League of Mixed Martial Arts. Today more than 600 members attend our club: boys and girls at the age of 5-15. The club is well-known both in Russia and abroad. There are our own champions of Moscow, Russia, USA. The club is proud of its excellent highly professional coaching staff. The project of filiations opening in other Russian and US cities is discussed».
